Muxnaw Lodge is an attractive gabled Victorian house, with spectacular views of the Kenmare River and the Suspension Bridge.


The mature landscaped gardens roll down to the shoreline, with a tennis court, featuring an attractive copper beech tree at the entrance gates.

A the base of both the Ring of Beara & the Ring of Kerry, Muxnaw Lodge is the ideal hub for sightseeing with access a range of activities.

Located just a few minutes walk from the town centre and the many restaurants to choose from. The property is set at the foot of Muxnaw mountain, in a 3-acre private garden.The house was built in 1801 as a summer hunting and fishing residence for the Calverley family.

Muxnaw Lodge takes it’s name from the Gaelic “Snamh an muc” – swim of the pigs. It was here where farmers would swim their pigs across the river on their way to Kenmare.

The house was converted for accommodation purposes by the current occupiers, the Boland family. It has been decorated with careful attention to detail and includes many period antiques. Your host Hannah Boland is offering Bed and Breakfast accommodation all year.
